Greetings Ladies and Gents,

Welcome to Sundays with Jordan! I'm more excited than usual today because this is my first post since the relaunch of my site. I started blogging back in 2014, and I honestly had no clue as to what I was doing. Of course I'm still learning as I go, but I have a better feel for things these days and I felt it was time for an upgrade of my content. For those of you that are seeing my website for the very first time, I welcome you with open arms and I highly recommend that you check out some of my previous posts. I want to thank everyone that has been there supporting me and my writing over these past few years. I do not take you for granted. With that being said, let's get back to business.

My last few posts have had a pretty big focus on relationship issues and how we navigate them in different ways. While these have been some pretty popular topics to discuss, I thought I'd mix it up a bit this time. We all have our own unique ways of expressing style when it comes to fashion. What makes clothing so cool is that we can share so much of who we are as individuals simply by what threads are worn when walking out the door. One of the more effective ways at giving a part of yourself when getting dressed is by wearing one of your favorite musicians. While this may not be a new concept, it's in fact one of the more effective and a personal favorite of mine when going the casual route.

I absolutely love music and I have my specific group of favorite artists that I'm constantly blasting on my Snapchat stories or talking about with my friends. A frequent question that I find myself being asked is who are my top 5 or top 10 entertainers of all time, and that's a fun thing to debate because there's so many to choose from. But a fun way that I've gone about promoting who's in my upper echelon of performers is simply by showing them off either through a fitted tee, hoodie or a crewneck(personal favorites). By doing this, I've not only shown off my personal style but also opened up the doors for conversation with others that may be around me. So for those of you that find it tough to break the ice sometimes, just wear your favorite singer and you've instantly got something to talk about.

One of the more humorous scenarios I've found myself in is when I wear a clothing item of someone and get the "Who's that on your shirt?" question. I would sometimes pause and be like "Yo, did they really just ask me who David Ruffin is?", but then I'd come to my senses and realize not everyone knows, and that's what you call a teaching moment. So it's been pretty cool to me that I can not only show off my favorite entertainers on a regular, but I also have the opportunity to expose others to their quality music at the same time. For the record, if you still haven't seen Leon's performance as David Ruffin in the Temptations movie, shame on you. But yea, go do that right now.

I used to get so frustrated at the fact that I can barely find any Anita Baker gear anywhere. As much as I love me some Sade, all you have to do to find hundreds of clothing items with her face on it is type her name in Google. Try that same strategy for Anita, and I bet you won't be so successful. Thankfully though, André 3000 has as much love for the legend as I do and he seems to be planning an upcoming clothing line dedicated to Ms Baker herself. If that does indeed come to pass, I'm pretty sure I'll buy up the whole collection, that's if they aren't $500 a piece!

I know there's plenty of you cool kids out there that are already flaunting your favorite artists to the masses, so kudos to you. But for everyone else, seriously consider expanding your wardrobe like it's an album/record collection. I'm assuming that the temperature will actually start feeling consistently warm at some point, and when it does you could already have your stack of t shirts ready to go. It'll be like having your own personal concert with all your beloved performers in your closet! We all have our own favorite songs and albums that brighten the day, so use that same logic with what/who you wear. Until next time, be blessed!
